Inspired by the revolutionary ideals of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, Parapattiyar’s family has long been devoted to the Dravidian movement. Carrying forward this legacy, he joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) during his college days and quickly earned the respect of senior leaders for his discipline, loyalty, and hard work.

Guided by the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Thalapathy M.K. Stalin, he rose through the ranks to serve as:

• Chairman, Panamarathupatti Union
• Chairman, Salem District Panchayat Committee
• Member, Local Planning Committee, Salem District
• Union Secretary, DMK – Panamarathupatti
• Deputy Secretary, DMK – Salem East District (since 2022)

Each of these roles has strengthened his connection with the people and deepened his impact on the ground.
